Contracting with European civilians to help supply fighting forces in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) was the job of Major Lester Hanks. Major Hanks has returned home after spending 18 months overseas to spend a 45-day leave with his wife and daughter, Nancy. Major Hanks is on leave of absence from the faculty of The Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (Texas A&M), from where he graduated. Mrs. Hanks is the former Miss Melba Bullock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse H. Bullock. Major Hanks is shown standing against a wall, wearing his military uniform.
