Description
Ida Van Blarcom Carlton, Star-Telegram librarian, was surprised by third floor friends recently with a three-tier cake marking her 25th anniversary as an employee of the paper. She is shown slicing the cake. The knife she is using has a ribbon tied in a bow around it. A group of her peers are standing behind her. The women are wearing dresses or blazers and skirts. Ida is wearing a dress. Ida went to work as a switchboard operator when the present building was opened on December 5, 1920. Five years later she was transferred to the reference library.
