Description
One of the smoothest working departments in the Star-Telegram is the mailing room on the basement mezzanine. Here a crew of 22 men work with precision to get the papers to the dealers and individual subscribers. Before the papers leaves the mailing room, they are stacked and weighed, after which they are placed on an escalator and carried to the loading dock. The escalator, shown being loaded by Bill Keith, is a labor saver that helps move quantities of mail quickly. Mr. Keith is wearing a collared shirt, trousers and a visor. He is holding a stack of newspapers and two more stacks are already on the escalator.
