Description
Jim Farmer, center, is celebrating his eighty-second birthday at the Livestock Exchange building. He is the oldest active commission man in Texas. His buddies at the exchange convened the kangaroo court. Houston Hutchens, right, pleaded for lenience for the victim when the group threatened to give Mr. Farmer eighty-two lashes and one to grow on. George Scaling, left, assisted with the hazing and with the presentation of gifts that followed. Mr. Scaling is wearing a hat, dress shirt, necktie, and trousers. Mr. Farmer is dressed in a hat, button-up shirt, bowtie, suspenders, trousers, and a cane. Mr. Hutchens is holding a whip and wearing a dress shirt and trousers.
