Description
Captain Douglas G. Montell, Marine came home from the Pacific through the Panama canal and Boston. He was the former adjutant and later commanding officer of the headquarter squadron at Eagle Mountain Marine Air Station. After leaving Fort Worth, he was sent to the West Coast, then to Ulithi with Marine Aircraft Group 11, then to Pelilu in the Palau Islands as adjutant of VMF 122, the old fighter group of Maj. Gregory (Pappy) Boyington. He graduated from the University of California.
