    Description

Largely as the result of efforts of a fellow named Harry S. Truman, Lt. Col. Maurice R. Smith, right, was presented the Silver Star Monday for heroism in 1918. Lt. Gen. Barton K. Yount, left, made the presentation. In the picture you can see Lt. Smith wearing his uniform very proudly, he is smiling while receiving the recognition. Lt. Gen. Yount is wearing a jacket that seems to be part of a uniform and he is pointing towards Lt. Col. Smith's silver star. It appears like the picture was taken in some office because there are desks, and in the walls there are some paintings hanging and there are three flags.
