Charles Pettit of Flat Top Ranch, Walnut Springs, left, and C. A. Smith of Chester West Virginia ( right) shown with two year old heifer. Mr. Pettit congratulated Mr. Chester on the purchase of the heifer for $10,000. The Hereford was the first to sell for that price in Texas. Both men are wearing hats; Mr. Smith is wearing a long coat and eyeglasses.
