Description
George W. Stevens wearing a suit and tie is standing against a wall with his hands behind his back. He is a released Naval officer after three years of service. Mr. Stevens who served on Lord Mountbatten's staff as a Diesel Engineer in a maintenance unit responsible for all the engines the Navy used. One of six Americans stationed in England who got to meet King George VI at a ceremony when the king reviewed the group. Traveled 250,000 miles by air over Europe, Africa, and the Pacific. At the end of the war he was stationed at Pearl Harbor. His wife remained at home. Mr. Stevens returned to his former job as regional manager for the engine division of the National Supply Company.
