Abram Clark, 19, Fireman First Class is standing up against a wall with hands behind his back wearing a military uniform. He is on a 14-day leave visiting his parents. Mr. Clark reports back to his ship on November 22 in San Diego where he plans to have a Thanksgiving Dinner with his brother, Jimmy. Mr. Clark's ship landed Army troops for the invasion on Okinawa and was one of the first transports to enter Tokyo Bay.
