Description
Amon Carter Riverside High School Reserve Officers' Training Corps boys reenacting the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima by the Marines during halves of the football game in Farrington Field. It was in observance of 170th anniversary of the Marine Corps. Left to right, L. Z. Winham, Richard Harris, Price Roberts, (back to camera), Hartsel Wallace, Johnny Whitten and Pat Barnett, kneeling. The boys are in marine uniform, holding the inclined pole of the American flag as to raising it and situating it on the ground. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 12, 1945.
