Description
When Eddie William and Joe Wallis enlisted together on August 3, 1942, little did they know they would see each other every day for the next three years. Their naval records are exactly the same from the day of their enlistment to their discharge. During that time they trained together, received their promotions at the same, left for the Philippines together, dodged the same bombs, and won the same medal. Both were rewarded the Bronze Star for keeping the planes flying in spite of shortage of tools. Both men were Aviation Machinist's Mates Second Class at the time of their discharge. In the picture both men appear to be wearing suits, collared shirts, and ties.
