Mrs. Edna Isbell is being presented with the Air Medal in her room at Harris Memorial Methodist Hospital. Lieutenant Hazel Choate is shown awarding the honor. The medal was given on behalf of her son, Staff Sergeant George W. Isbell, who was killed in a plane crash on May 7, 1945. Sergeant Isbell served as pilot of a liaison plane on Luzon. Mrs. Isbell is a patient at the hospital. She is shown lying in bed. Lieutenant Choate, a native of Decatur, Illinois, is stationed at the Fort Worth Army Air Field. She is dressed in a military uniform.
