Copy of print from "The War of the Nations," printed by the New York Times. At left is the train of the French delegation which on November 11, 1918, met German plenipotentiaries to agree on terms for a armistice to halt World War I. The train of the Germans is shown at right. The railroad siding pictured is in historic Compiegne Forest. Text above the print says: "Scenes Attending the Signing of the Armistice." Text below: "The spot in the forest of Compiegne, France, where the armistice with Germany was signed, Nov. 11, 1918. On the left is the rain that formed the headquarters of Marshal Foch and on the right that occupied by the German envoys. (Copyright: Underwood & Underwood)."
