    Description

Mrs. C. A. Back of Mansfield, Texas. Mrs. Back is shown receiving a message over the telephone from the Navy Department, telling her that her son, Colonel Addison Back Junior, has been rescued from a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Back Junior, ship fitter third class, has not seen his family in six years. Mrs. Back is looking at the camera, smiling as she holds the telephone to her ear. She is wearing a pair of eyeglasses and a dress with a ruffle collar. The telephone is attached to the wall in front of her.
