Description
E. G. Lavender, 44, member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, shown examining his injuries in a mirror. He was hurt in a fist fight which started over his contention that it is wrong to salute the American flag. Lavender said six teeth were knocked out and his jaw injured by blows from the fist of Harry Fifer, North Side livestock commission man, at the Livestock Exchange Building. Lavender asked that charges be filed against Fifer, but the district attorney's office said evidence showed Lavender struck the first blow. Lavender is wearing a long sleeved collared shirt.
