Description
Victory over Japan celebrants. Group kneeling in prayer, left to right: Mrs. Vernon Smith, Mrs. Frank Hurley, Frank Hurley III Mrs. Roy Thomason and Mrs. J. W. Holder. These four mothers of service men and the son of a man in service were among those who knelt in prayer soon after peace was announced. The women and small boy have their heads down and their hands clasped or closed at the foot at the alter. Behind them, church seats can be seen.
