Description
Major James C. Purvis, an all-American backfielder at Purdue University in his collegiate days, was announced as the physical training director for Army Air Forces (A. A. F.) Training Command with additional duties as director of athletics for the football team. Major Purvis succeeds Major Blair Gullion, also a former Purdue star, who has been released from active duty. Major Purvis is standing against a bare wall, wearing his military uniform.
