    Description

    V. Chalmers Hughes, motor machinist first class, arrived at his home on a leave this week just in time to share one homemade meal with his brother, Virgil Hughes, radioman second class whom he hadn't seen in almost three years. The seamen are sons of Mrs. V. R. Hughes. Chalmers is back after 26 months on submarine chaser in the Pacific. The brothers admitted that the Navy cooks never had mixed up anything to equal Mrs. Hughs' nut crisp cookies. Chalmers, sitting in the dinning table has a plate full of cookies. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 12, 1945.
