Description
Back on a 30-day furlough after six months overseas, Corporal Lawton Gambill is in Fort Worth after visiting his grandmother, Mrs. L. G. Graves. Gambill entered the Army two years ago and received his training at Camp Roberts, California. When he went overseas he served in central Germany with the 89th Division, in which were several other Fort Worth men. His work was chiefly with communications. He wears the Combat Infantry Badge, the European Theater of Operations (ETO) ribbon with three battle stars, and the Good Conduct ribbon. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, August 10, 1945.
