Description

Weary from a trip from Camp Miles Standish, Boston, a 15-car trainload of returned combat soldiers spent a two-hour stopover in Fort Worth en route to Fort Sam Houston. They were from the battlefields of Europe, headed for furlough and redeployment. Left to right, Captain James E. Richards and Captain Tom D. Lewis, both from Fort Worth. The two soldiers are posed next to each other in front of a train car. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition August 1, 1945
