Corporal Vernon B. Thompson, whose portrait photograph is shown here, has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Vernon served in Company C, 468th Antiaricraft Artillery Battalion, 3rd Army. He is a former Hamilton High School football star and married Miss Marcelle Knudson. He has a brother, Sargeant Janes H. Thompson Junior, who also been awarded the Bronze Star medal. James served in Company D, 460th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion, 1st Army. His wife is the former Miss Lorene Kelm. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 1, 1945.
