Thomas Davis (left), standing on the dock, is being shown the "likely places for fish" on Lake Thurber by his friend of 26 years, Bates Cox of the Texas & Pacific Coal & Oil Company who expects to go on many fishing trips together. Dean J. Thomas Davis has just been promoted to be "dean emeritus and professor" at John Tarleton College. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 29, 1945.
