After 46 years of railroading, this Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (Katy) switchman retired Saturday. He wishes to rest for at least 23 years. His first job in railroading was in Nelsonville, Ohio and started with Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (Katy) on November 2, 1902. He is a native of Ohio. He served in the Spanish-American War. He was general yardmaster at Parsons, Kansas during the first World War. He and his wife Mrs. Millie Peters are planning a trip after the second World War. They would like to go back up to Ohio for a while. He has been a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen for 45 years. He has been a Hemphill Heights Masonic Lodge member for the past 20 years.
