Pictured here is a copy of framed portrait of Henry H. Alexander Junior (Jr.), Chief torpedoman's mate, United States Navy (USN). In this portrait he is dressed in uniform. A submarine man, Chief Alexander wears three gold stars on his submarine pin, signifying four successful engagements with the enemy. He has been in the Navy for five and one-half years and in the Pacific for three and one-half years of that time. Before entering the service he attended John Tarleton College, Stepheville, Texas, and is a former Paschal High School student. While overseas he married Miss Patricia Ann Shanohan of Sidney, Australia, who is now in the Australian Army Nurse Corps. He is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Alexander Senior (Sr.), 1501 Clover Lane, Fort Worth, Texas. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 3, 1945.
