    Description

Archie D. Cook, Aviation Ordnanceman, First Class, is pictured here. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front, dressed in uniform, and smiling for the camera. He is visiting his wife and six-week-old daughter at 3433 Wayside Street, Fort Worth, Texas. This Bunker Hill crewman shared his experience of seeing his shipmates on the vessel pile up in death trying to escape from a bomber squadron ready room. His story added another chapter to the tale of the United States Ship (USS) Bunker Hill. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 30, 1945.
