    Description

    Sergeant (Sgt.) Ralph Wofford, liberated prisoner of war, is pictured here with his mother, Mrs. Hattie Wofford of Arlington. They are shown seated in a sofa and smiling to each other. Sergeant's (Sgt.) right hand is around his mother's shoulders. He is dressed in uniform and she is wearing a polka dot dress. Both mother and son look happy. He is telling his mother how he left Germany with a French bayonet that he got from a German guard. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 29, 1945.
