Description

David Creed, machinist's mate, second class, Seabees, is pictured here. He is shown dressed in uniform, standing against a bare wall, facing front and smiling for the camera. He wears the American theater ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific with three battle stars, representing invasions of the Solomons, the Marshalls and the Marianas, and a ribbon indicating a Presidential Unit Citation, which his battalion, the 18th, received while attached to the 2nd Marine Division during the invasion of Saipan. Back from 33 months in the Pacific, he is home on a 30-day rehabilitation and reassignment leave. He is the son of pastor Reverend (Rev.) and Mrs. J. J. Creed of Weatherford. He is visiting his sister, Mrs. R. C. Knight, Fort Worth, Texas. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 28, 1945.
