Shown here from left to right, are Misses Doris Hearon, Margaret Jenkins and Betty Jane McDonald. These three Fort Worth girls left Tuesday afternoon for the Bronx, New York, where they will take a six-week 'Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service' (WAVES) training course. Miss Hearon, niece of Mrs. W. H. Hearon, was employed as a stenographer in San Diego when she enlisted for the training course. Miss Jenkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Jenkins, was working at Convair, and Miss McDonald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McDonald, was working at Interstate Theaters. They are standing side by side against a bare wall and wearing long dresses and posing for the camera. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, June 27, 1945.
