Description
Private First Class (Pfc.) George W. Griffin, veteran of 18 months with the 15th Air Force in Italy, is pictured here. He is shown dressed in uniform, standing against a bare wall, facing front, and posing for the camera. Griffin worked in the ordnance department of a bombardment group that was cited by the president twice. When he enlisted in December 1942 he was working in a textile mill in Hillsboro, Texas. He is spending a 30-day furlough with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. David E. Wilbanks, and his mother, Mrs. Maude Griffin of Hillsboro, Texas. He will report to Fort Sam Houston July 2.
