Lieutenant (Junior Grade) James M. Pennebaker is an officer in the United States Navy. He is one of the survivors of the gallant United States destroyer, Morrison which sunk in May while fighting off a Japanese attack. Lieutenant Pennebaker was an assistant engineer officer on the ship. He spent eighteen months on sea duty before returning home. He is spending his thirty-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Pennebaker in Fort Worth, Texas. Lieutenant Pennebaker is a 1937 graduate of Pascal High School. He attended Texas A&M College before entering the service. Lieutenant Pennebaker is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
