Description
George Griffin, 67, is retiring after 48 years as a cashier at Texas and Pacific (T&P) Railway, a position he has held since 1922. He started working for the T&P in 1897 as a baggage man on the run between Fort Worth and Texarkana and in 1906 he began selling tickets in the office. He has raised two daughters, one of whom followed her father into the railroad business, Mrs. Geneva Lowther works for the Fort Worth & Denver Railroad. Mr. Griffin is shown sitting on a sofa at his home. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition June 15, 1945.
