Mrs. John R. Thompson is telling her young son, John Frazer, stories about his soldier father. Petty Officer John R. Thompson is serving in the United States Navy, stationed with the Seabees in the Pacific. He has been overseas twenty-three months and has never met his son. Mrs. Thompson is holding her son and a picture of her husband. She is wearing a button-up dress, belted at the waist. John Frazer is a month shy of his second birthday. He is dressed in striped overalls.
