Lieutenant Don Sawyer, B-24 pilot, standing in front of a bare wall, wearing his military uniform. Lieutenant Sawyer completed 50 missions in Italy. He returned to the United States to spend 21 days leave with his wife, the former Miss Jean Laverty and his parents Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Sawyer. Sawyer joined the 15th Air Force in August, 1944.
