    J. W. Sossamon is an Electrician's Mate Second Class in the United States Navy. He is home in Fort Worth, Texas after serving eleven-months on a Landing Ship Tank in the Pacific. He is spending a thirty-day leave with his wife and daughter Barbara Joy. While overseas, Sossamon made amphibious landings on Leyte and Iwo Jima. He is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
