Description
Malaria put him in the hospital 18 times and the Army powers that be finally figured it would be best to send him home, but Corporal Don W. Pinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Pinson got in on the fighting in New Guinea, Netherlands, East Indies, and the Philippines. The 19 year old veteran of 2 1/2 years with the Army medics arrived back in Fort Worth. Among his awards, the youth wears the Purple Heart which he received after being struck in the shoulder by shrapnel on Leyte. He appears to be in front of a wall, with his hands behind his back , and he is wearing his uniform.
