Clipping: "12 Students to be Presented By Conservatory Wednesday. The Fort Worth Conservatory of Music will present at 8:15 p. m. Wednesday at the Woman's Club 12 of its students who are May high school graduates. This is a presentation which for several years has been a feature of the conservatory schedule. From the Paschal High School class are Miss Charlotte Barrier, Miss Helen Culbertson and Clifton Robertson, pianists from the class of Miss Jeanette Tillett; Miss Gloria Colbert, Miss Gene Griffin and Miss Culbertson, from the voice class of Mrs. Helen Emery, and Miss Clara Goodspeed, from the voice class of Mrs. Madeira Manchester. From Polytechnic High School come Miss Theda Jo Heuschober and Miss Polly West, from the class of Mrs. Emery, and David Hornsby, from the class of Miss Tillett. From Arlington Heights High School are listed Miss Jo Ann Riddle (Manchester) and Miss Betty Lou Nicholson (Emery), and from Handley High School Miss Wanda Barton, from the class of Mrs. Manchester. Accompanists will be Mrs. Reed Collier, Mrs. Jack Griffin and Mrs. Manchester. The orchestral accompaniments for the piano concertos will be conducted by E. Clyde Whitlock, with Mr.s Dorris Penick as concertmaster, both members of the faculty. After the program a reception will be held, honoring the graduates, at the conservatory building at 426 S. Henderson, to which families and friends of the honorees have been invited." Published Star-Telegram Morn. May 20, 1945. Left to right: Polly West, Clara Goodspeed, Wanda Barton, and Jo Ann Riddle. Miss West is wearing a white cotton or linen blouse with an attached cravat of folds of fabric; the cravat and heck are edged with tatting or lace, and the blouse is short-sleeved and buttons in front. Her tiered skirt has several rows of different floral fabric. Miss Goodspeed is wearing a short-sleeved plaid shirtwaist dress that buttons down the front, has bows of the same fabric affixed the the bodice, a belt in the same fabric, and the skirt with darts and pockets. She has a barrette in her hair. Miss Barton is wearing a short-sleeved striped dress with light contrasting edging and an applique flower at the neckline. The skirt is on the bias and is gathered at the fitted bodice waist. Miss Riddle is wearing a two-piece short-sleeved dress with a shell pattern. She appears to have a watch or bracelet and has a flower in her hair.
