Description
Miss Edna Nelson is pictured here. She is a 20 year old Irish girl who waited a year and half for her discharged from the Women's Royal Naval Service in order to come to America to marry. She landed in this country March 10 for an American wedding that was thwarted by her fiancee's death. Private (Pvt.) Hugh Allen Alfrey, a paratrooper was killed on a motorcycle at Camp McCall, North Carolina. Miss Nelson is in this country with a permanent residence permit. She is a new volunteer worker at the Service Men's Center (SMC) and the new recruit said that she intends to get a job in Fort Worth, Texas. She is shown seated at a desk and writing on a piece of paper while posing for the camera. She is impressed by the friendliness of Texas people.
