Clipping: "Winners in American Legion School Contests Announced. Winners of American Legion school awards at four schools where contests were sponsored by the Business and Professional Men's Post No. 14, American Legion, were announced Sunday by W. H. Hubbard, post adjutant. The awards were made to a boy and a girl at each school. The winners by schools: Rosemont Junior High Schoolâ€â€William Riley, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Riley, 1517 Beddell, and Anna Margaret Logan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Logan, 1816 Spurgeon. W. C. Stripling Junior High Schoolâ€â€William Dunlap, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Dunlap, 5100 Locke, and Sally Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Walker, 2301 Tremont. McLean Junior High Schoolâ€â€Edward Bedour, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bodour, 1509 Eighth Avenue, and Marilyn Hindsley, daughter of Maj. And Mrs. Mark H. Hindsley, 3315 Rogers. J. P. Elder Junior High Schoolâ€â€Brown Tomme, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brown Tomme, 2508 Honeysuckle, and Latryl Layton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Layton, 2215 Columbus." Published Star-Telegram Morn. May 14, 1945. Three of the award winners left to right are: Anna Margaret Logan, William Dunlap and Sally Walker. Anna Margret and William Riley (not pictured) represented Rosemont Junior High School. Anna Margaret is wearing a two-piece outfit with the matching top and skirt with stitching around the collar, shaping a neckline, and around one skirt pocket. William and Sally represented W. C. Stripling Junior High School. William is dressed in a plaid shirt tucked into dark trousers with a belt. Sally is wearing a polka-dot outfit with a skirt gathered at the waist and a matching top gathered at the neckline and adorned with two dark ribbon bows. She is wearing a graduated pearl necklace. The girls are wearing the award ribbons on their dresses.
