Description
William B. Potter, Radioman Third Class, who has served a year in the Pacific aboard a fleet tanker, is back in Fort Worth for a 30- day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Potter. The tanker where he served was one of those supplying the invasion fleets for the landings at Guam, Saipan, Leyte and Iwo Jima. Potter arrived in Fort Worth just in time to receive the news of V-E Day. His bother, Master Sergeant Frank B. Potter, Junior, serves with the 8th Army Air Forces for 2 and a half years. Potter attended Polytechnic High School in and was graduated from high school in Denton in 1941. Prior entering the Navy he was employed at the Convair. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 14, 1945.
