    Description

    World War II has taken three sons from the J. J. Boydstun family circle, leaving two sons and a daughter. Shown at their home Sunday before memorial services were held for the latest son to die in battle, Lieutenant Colonel William J. Boydstun, are left to right, the eldest son, Ira S. Boydstun of Houston, Iva Isabel Guthrie who is the Boydstun's only daughter, J. J. Boydstun and Mrs. Iva WardBoydstun, Major General Gilbert R. Cook who was the fallen soldier's commanding officer, Mrs. Tylene Boydstun, Lt. Col.Boydstun's widow, and Lieutenant R. G. Boydstun of the Marines who is at home on leave. All men and women are standing together. All are wearing formal dresses, except Major General Cook and Lieutenant Boydstun in uniforms. Navy, Marines, Army, and Air Force pennants are hanging on the wall behind them. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 7, 1945.
