Description
Sergeant Gordonn H. McCoy, glider infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division, has been awarded the Silver Star, for gallantry in action September 25, in Holland. McCoy was taken by the Germans that day and was held in the Luchenwalde prison camp. The award was presented to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. W. McCoy, at a retreat at Fort Crockett, April 26. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 7, 1945.
