Portrait of Harry D. Henderson, who recently retired as superintendent of operations of the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Henderson's post was taken over by Ben T. Newby, who for some time has been assistant superintendent. Henderson, 64, and his wife live at 1100 N. W. 15th. He reported he had no definite plans as to how to spend his time in retirement. He began his tenure at the market as a weigh master September 21, 1905. As scale master at the old No. 1 scale he operated the only scale in the cattle yards at that time. He has been superintendent of operation at the yards for more than 30 years. Under his guidance the operations of the yards have expanded to increase the employees under him by more than 100 per cent. He is standing against the wall. There is a picture hanging on the wall on his right side. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, April 11, 1945.
