Description
This group of army surgeons took part in a symposium on reconstructive surgery at a meeting of the Texas Surgical Society at Hotel Texas. Visiting surgeons including four staff surgeons of Wakeman General and Covalescent Hospital at Camp Atterbury, Indiana who presented the panel are show. Left to right: Colonel R. J. Benford, surgeon of the 1st Troop Carrier Command; Major A. McCraven of Wakeman; Colonel H.J. Joworshi, of McCloskey Hospital; Major T. G. Blocker of Wakeman; Brigadier General J. A. Bethea, commanding officer of McCloskey; Major W. J. Fitzgerald of the Veterans Administration in Dallas; Captain Emil Seletz of Wakeman; Major Sam W. Banks of Wakeman; and Lieutenant Colonel Caleb S. Stone, chief of surgery of Wakeman. The men are in their military uniforms and standing in two rows.
