Description
"Members of the Blackstone Post of the American Legion were the proud possessors of a slightly used machine gun Thursday, but some of them were still puzzled over the identity of the donor...The machine gun came in a package addressed to the "Fort Worth American Legion" and was delivered to Craig Laine, commander of Blackstone Post. The sender was Staff Sergeant Elisha C. Riddle, but most of the members could not remember a man by that name. Walter Bryant and Shag Floore came nearest to establishing the donor's identity. They remembered him as a former member of the post and operator of a garage. Laine had no recollection of Riddle." Mr. Laine is crouching and holding the gun, perhaps looking through the gun's sight. He is wearing a pinstripe suit and a uniform hat.
