Mrs. Annie M. Smith is the wife of liberated prisoner of war, Technical Sergeant Leroy G. Smith. She is pictured with their infant daughter, Sharon Ann Smith, after receiving news of her husband's release. Sergeant Smith was taken prisoner by the German Army on July 23, 1944, in Normandy. Mrs. Smith is wearing a dark, button-up dress. Sharon Ann is wearing a floral dress.
