Corporal Tommy Tatum and his wife, Mrs. Alberta Tatum, are visiting his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. Corporal Tatum is serving with the Army Air Force, stationed in Macon, Georgia. Before the war, he was a slugging outfielder for the Fort Worth Cats, a minor league affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Tatum was playing minor league baseball in Nashville, Tennessee, when Brooklyn purchased his contract rights for $20,000. Corporal Tatum is dressed in his military uniform. Mrs. Tatum is wearing a dress with a lace collar and gloves.
