Description
Corporal (Corp.) Albert Routh, 20, a dive bomber gunner with the First Air Wing of Marines is pictured here. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and looking to the camera. He is dressed in marine uniform. He spent 18 months on active duty in the South Pacific. He wears the Presidential Unit Citation and is one of the first Texas boys to return from Luzon wearing the newly authorized ribbon for re-entry into the Philippines. He attended high school at Ballinger, Texas. After returning from Luzon, Corporal (Corp.) Routh is vising his aunt, Mrs. Uel Stephens. He will visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Routh of Ballinger, Texas, before reporting to Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he will attend gunnery school at the Marine base there.
