    Description

    First Lieutenant James N. Oliveros is a C-47 pilot of the 13th Air Force Service Command. In February, a Mitchell Bomber he was flying crashed on a takeoff and one member of his crew was killed. Lieutenant Oliveros is in a naval hospital in the Russell Islands where he is recovering from severe injuries and waiting for orders to return home on leave. He holds the Air Medal with ten clusters. Lieutenant Oliveros is shown in his official military photograph, dressed in his military uniform of Houston Air Corps.
