Shown are three male competitors in track suits including Perry Samuels, center, San Antonio, Texas. Other two are unidentified. Perry Samuels, Thomas Jefferson dash star from San Antonio, Texas, cracked the 100-yard dash mark in the schoolboy preliminaries of the Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show Track and Field Meet Friday when he ran the distance in 9.7, two-tenths of a second better than the previous mark. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 17, 1945.
