Miss Ruth Steidenger, director of child development in the home economics department of Texas State College for Women (TSCW) is pictured here. She is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and smiling for the camera. She is wearing a coat and a corsage is pinned to her dress. She attended a one-day teacher training series at Fort Worth. Miss Steidenger is a graduate of Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio, and did graduate work at Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota, also attended Merrill Palmer School, Detroit. She came to Texas State College for Women (TSCW) five years ago, and has instigated the first nursery school education major in Texas. She is national vice president of nursery schools in the Association for Childhood Education. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, March 15, 1945.
